Our pre-developed range has been updated with new styles for you to use as base shapes for your clothing collection!
If you’ve worked with us before, you may be familiar with our pre-developed range – essentially a collection of styles that you can utilise to be the base shape for your designs.
Our pre-developed range features shapes that have been developed and refined by us, ready for you to use. Inspired by the most popular shapes from all the big brands like Palm Angels, Represent, Ralph Lauren, Stussy, and Fear of God etc, but with a little extra H&E magic to make them unique! Our latest development update sees the addition of some new key styles, as well as fit updates to a few old favourites.
Why use pre-developed bases for your clothing collection?
First off, pre-developed styles are not pre-made garments; your clothing items will still be made from scratch for you. Pre-developed styles just provide the fit for your clothing shapes. They are styles where the digital pattern has already been made – the pattern gives the manufacturer the blueprint for cutting out the fabric pieces needed and is what makes up the fit of the garment (see image below for a visual explanation of a hoodie pattern).
There are a lot of benefits to using pre-developed styles:
Visualising the final outcome. Firstly, you will already have a good idea of what your clothing item will fit like when using a pre-developed base. At Hook and Eye UK we have physical samples of all our pre-developed garments so that you can try them on and see them in our in-studio tech pack and design sessions. If you’re doing an online session instead, we have photos and videos of the styles on models so you can see good examples of how they fit a person. It’s much easier to visualise how your design will look when you can see the base shape on a body (or your own!).
It's cheaper for you. Full transparency here; creating a bespoke pattern takes a lot of work (meaning more cost for you). Our pre-developed range aims to offer a good variety of the most popular base shapes so that there’s an easy option for our customers to reduce pattern cutting costs.
Reducing development time (and cost!). Development is the process of refining a garment, from the fit to the graphic placements. Big fashion brands with in-house development teams will often take several rounds of sampling to perfect a brand new base shape and get the fit bang-on. This isn’t feasible for small brands from a cost perspective and it also lengthens your timeline, so we’ve done the hard work for you by already developing great base shapes!

New Hook and Eye UK pre-developed styles
Now for the fun stuff – picking your base shapes! Below are just a few of our favourite new and updated styles we love.
HK090 – Unisex Zip Up Hoodie
It was about time for an oversized zip up hoodie and this style was inspired by the Stussy fit with dropped shoulder, generous hood and classic kangaroo pocket.
HK011 – Unisex Straight Leg Joggers
An update to a great style, we’ve refined our well-loved straight leg joggers to align with the most popular styles out there. We’ve added adjusters to the hem so they can be styled either straight-legged or cuffed – both look super cool!
HK017 – Boxy Fit Mock Neck Tee
With wide, dramatic sleeves, mock-neck and a casual boxy fit that’s just slightly cropped in length, it’s giving Represent vibes and we love it.
HK032-V2 & 3 – Womens Stretch Leggings
A personal favourite, these leggings are a staple piece for any activewear or lounge brand and the fit is divine. We took inspiration from our favourite bits of activewear brands Lululemon and Adanola to create two legging options – the first with pockets, the second a more seamless look with a slightly higher-waisted fit.
HK002 – Unisex Oversized Hoodie
This style isn’t new or updated because why mess with perfection ;) It’s our best seller though so definitely worth a mention, and we just had our fit sample re-made in a gorgeously premium 420gsm 100% cotton French terry so next time you see us definitely ask to give it a look.
